“I wished the blessings to everyone because I shared in the spirit of Happy New Year, yet many of you came back with jokes about our appearance and our criticism of what you thought would be a better picture,” Puri wrote. “You are embarrassed.”
“It doesn’t matter if you are ten or ninety years old being rude. Be better than that. I pray for humanity. Morals and respect. If you don’t like something, just go ahead. There are real people and feelings behind every screen.”

Later on Saturday, Puri addressed these “haters” directly.
“I posted my family’s picture on Christmas, and unfortunately, there were a lot of unpleasant comments,” she wrote. “Do you think it is funny to criticize someone’s children? Making jokes about them? Criticizing our attitudes? The direction we are looking in? Our physical appearance and facial expressions?”
