Long-term care facilities begin receiving COVID-19 vaccines

New Mexico will be one of the first companies in the country to start giving the COVID-19 vaccine to long-term care residents and staff. The New Mexico Department of Aging and Long-Term Services announced that vaccinations will begin Sunday. According to ALTSD, 15,000 doses of Moderna vaccine will be given by CVS, Walgreens and Vida. Both staff and residents will need two doses of the vaccine and both doses will be from our Moderna. The first doses will be given on Sunday and Monday. The department says 3,449 residents of long-term care facilities have contracted COVID-19. 603 died.
