Bling Empire viewers accuse Power Rangers actor Andrew Gray of being “abusive” to his girlfriend

Viewers of the new Netflix reality show Bling Empire describe one of the show’s romantic relationships as “abusive”, accusing a star of being a “lighter” and a “live, breathable red flag”.

The show, billed as the true-to-life version of the hit movie Crazy Rich Asians, premiered on January 15 – and indeed, fans have racked up the whole thing and weighed in on the plot and stars on social media.

Several Twitter critics have expressed particular concern about the relationship between Kelly Mei Lee, 35, and actor Andrew Gray, 33, with some saying that Netflix should have included a warning about abusive relationships with the show.

The show includes several scenes documenting Kelly’s relationship with Andrew, who played the Red Power Ranger in Power Rangers Megaforce from 2013 to 2014.

In the first episode, the couple is taken to Paris by a wealthy friend to celebrate Kelly’s birthday – Andrew starts shouting at her for going shopping without him while he naps.

“What happens f ** k?” Shout at the phone. “Your lack of effort is driving me crazy.”

He even told her that she couldn’t leave the hotel without him.

To make matters worse, Kelly admitted that Andrew “goes through this bad mood or bad episodes” regularly, telling the camera: “Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Drew has shouted at me or talked to me this way.”

In another scene, when her friend asks Kevin what she is going to get him out of the relationship, her response is, “He’s not sleeping.”

On one occasion, Kelly walked out of a recording studio where Andrew works with a friend, after he started yelling at her about her decision to discuss their relationship with her friends.

Andrew’s fickle behavior sends the couple to therapy, as Kelly eventually decides that she no longer wants to continue the relationship – although at the end of the series she is seen returning home, leaving their romantic relationship status obscure.

But while the reality star might be able to forgive and forget her partner’s emotions, viewers of Netflix were horrified by his “offensive” actions.

“Mmm, is Kelly okay? This guy Andrew is literally a living, breathing red flag !!!” said another one.

Another description of Andrew said it was “the definition of a gas lighter !!”

Many have gone so far as to say that it exhibits many of the men’s abusive behaviors.

I’m not a psychiatrist, but this red ranger, Andrew Gray, on #blingempire looks like a pretty shady con artist. When he speaks it sounds like a lie Kelly seems to be an emotionally abusive relationship with him and she needs to escape from him, not walk! One books.

Another said, “Andrew wants privacy so he can offend Kelly in private without consequences.”

Several even urged Netflix to add a warning to the show for sensitive viewers.

One explained, “Bling Empire needs to be warned about abusive relationships when it comes to scenes with Kelly and Andrew. I don’t like watching reality TV and worrying about someone’s safety all the time.

However, she wouldn’t share if they were still a couple.

However, their Instagram accounts indicate that they may have officially named it. While they both shared a lot of photos with each other from 2015 through 2019, it looks like their last photo together was published in 2019.

Who is Kelly Mei Lee?

The 35-year-old was born in Kunming, China, but moved to Chicago when her mother landed a job at the University of Illinois.

Her mother raised her after her father returned to China because he could not find work in the United States.

In her twenties, she was married to a Chinese man and lived a luxurious life with four homes and seven cars.

“We lived in a distinct, outrageous way of life,” she explains at the series premiere. I think at the time we were spending, like, 400K a month on our black clothes [American Express card]”.

Her world around her collapsed when he was arrested for a crime that she had no clue committing.

“I didn’t know it at the time,” she says on the program, “but he was running one of the biggest electronic scams in American history.” All of our assets were frozen, and we gave the government, I think it was, like, 168 million dollars. Yeah. I didn’t even know who I was sleeping next to.

Since then, she has rebuilt her life and wealth as an entrepreneur, which has helped her “regain power”. She has produced TV shows and movies in Los Angeles and is also a rising influencer with 100,000 followers on Instagram.
